ESET annouce NOD32 v2.7

We are pleased to announce that NOD32 Version 2.7, with support for Microsoft Windows Vista has now been released and is available as a free upgrade to existing users.

The enhanced software is one of the few malware solutions on the market today that is fully compatible with versions of Vista, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. In addition, the upgrade to ESET NOD32 also features enhanced anti-stealth technology that offers more comprehensive protection against Rootkits through its ability to see the true state of running processes and the file system. Rootkits enable hackers to maintain control of a compromised system by hiding their presence.

Rootkits are now frequently used to hide malicious processes and files. The Anti-Stealth technology in ESET NOD32 v2.7 helps the on-demand and startup scanners to see the “real world” instead of the false one presented by an active Rootkit. NOD32’s ThreatSense can then use signatures and heuristics to detect and remove these threats. It is transparent to users, and it is turned on by default.
