A recent AV Comparatives test showed that NOD32 is again the winner in detecting new and unknown viruses and other malware. The testing methodology is to use a scanner with definitions three months prior to testing and use it to test against viruses and other malware released in those three months. Effectively you are using the scanner against viruses and malware that it’s never seen before.
The test results, released on the 1st of June, again confirm NOD32’s dominance of the anti-virus market in pro-active detection of new threats. For the fourth test in a row, NOD32 has surpassed all of the competition.
The results can be found on the AV Comparatives website or viewed here as a PDF.
