About Blue Ivy

Blue Ivy Limited was established in July 2001 with the primary goal at that time of providing professional and high quality IT services to organisations within Scotland. While working with some of the UK’s biggest organisations, our professional reputation for quality services spread with more and more calls being received from small businesses. Initially, the majority of these calls were to clean up the mess caused by other less experienced computer support businesses. It soon became clear that a large part of the business community was not being served effectively by either the smaller or larger IT services companies in the market. This realisation prompted a shift in the business to focus on small to medium sized businesses.

On the 1st of May 2006, I established a new office in the Highlands of Scotland. As the only IT services business based in Wick, Caithness, this continues the goal of providing professional IT products and services to businesses in Caithness & Sutherland. From the office based in Glasgow, I continue to support new and existing customers in Central Scotland.

To allow you to get a feel for a few of the many projects I’ve worked on, five of them are listed below:

• Implementation of virtual technologies using software from both Microsoft and VMWare (links to VMWare Workstation, VMWare Server, Microsoft Virtual PC and Microsoft Virtual Server).
• Small Business Server 2003 installation, configuration and monitoring.
• Installation of the current Small Business Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (when R2 is available, we will be undertaking this upgrade for all of our clients).
• Implementation of Windows patching systems to keep workstations, laptops and servers fully up to date and protected.
• Implementation of mobile technologies allowing businesses to collect, read and respond to their email on the move.
• Finally for this list, I’ve worked on a number of new office installations that included all aspects of the network, workstations, servers and peripherals. Allowing Blue Ivy to liaise and manage third parties gives you one point of contact for your project.
